Great Uses for Magic Eraser in Prepping your Home to Sell
When you prepare to sell your home, one of the many things your should do is walk around your house and examine all of the doors and door frames, light switches and baseboards.
Many times people don’t realize the little scuffs, greasy fingerprints and dust bunnies are visible which may leave a buyer to wonder, “why it has gone unnoticed and what else can’t the seller’s see?” If the buyer can see that dirt, they wonder what other items in your home has suffered from deferred maintenance.
Magic eraser is a miracle sponge that was invented in the early 2000s when BASF researchers discovered that melamine foam, originally designed as industrial insulation and soundproofing, possessed unique, highly abrasive cleaning properties. Procter & Gamble (P&G) later rebranded this material as the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, which was released in 2003.
Melamine foam is the main ingredient in and it contains a chemical called formaldehyde-melamine-sodium bisulfite copolymer. Although this chemical isn't known to cause any serious health complications on its own, it is an abrasive ingredient.
These little magic sponges have varied uses for cleaning as stated above, but also do well to clean sneakers and soles, cleaning up crayon from kids who color outside the lines, stovetop clean up and many more.
They come in brand and generic as well as in block or tear-off sheet form. They provide a relatively inexpensive way to tackle that dirt and grime that lurks on top of the baseboard behind your bathroom door. (Yes, I always look there!😆)
